Hot Off the Press!

At long last, Roots and Wings’ first foray into the world of children’s books has arrived! A Boy Called Ralph is a playful and effervescent re-telling of the building of the Byker Wall by the late Ralph Erskine. Commissioned by Northern Architecture as part of their continuing Byker Lives Project, and produced in association with Igloo Regeneration Fund, this is our homage to the architect who designed one of the North East’s most iconic structures, beautifully illustrated in pen and watercolour by Ed Blazey. Copies of Ralph are being given away to families with young children living in the Byker Wall and can also be bought via our online shop for a hella reasonable price with all proceeds going towards further community projects in the Byker area, so set your peepers to Christmas mode and check it out!
