Newcastle Centre for the Literary Arts

Branding & graphic design for literary centre of excellence

Here at Roots & Wings we were chuffed to be chosen to undertake re-branding for the Newcastle Centre for the Literary Arts. NCLA operates out of Newcastle University School of English and is run by Director and 2017 Forward Prize-winning poet SinĂ©ad Morrissey. NCLA tasked Roots and Wings with creating a brand identity that’s bold and that bespeaks the outstanding quality of the programme of readings and literary events that NCLA offers. Whilst working on the branding it also made sense to take on the design of the brochure for Newcastle Poetry Festival 2019 which will come to the city in May. This year’s poetry festival is called Transformations and will deliver a whole heap of events over three days at venues across the city, including readings, workshops and exhibitions, by nationally and internationally-acclaimed poets, writers and artists.
