Video for Shiver Me Timbers Exhibition at The Word

Shiver Me Timbers is an immersive exhibition about pirates on the page, stage and screen appearing at The Word, National Centre for the Written Word in South Shields. The exhibition, produced by Sheridan Design, is a fun and interactive exploration of all things piratical. Roots and Wings was asked to produce a video which would play inside the large galleon which featured as the exhibition’s centrepiece. Our video compares pirate life as presented by popular culture with pirate life as it really was, based on what we know from various sources… We hope it helps those who visit the exhibition begin to separate pirate myth from pirate truth. Were they really the wooden-legged, parrot-toting rascals of the high seas that we often assume? You’ll have to watch the video to find out. The exhibition will be at The Word until early 2018…
