CHARITIES.
we love working with other third sector groups whose Social Objectives align with our own.
We’ve provided a huge range of services to charities, co-ops, and community organisations in the region; this has included graphic and web design to boost their brand identity, workshops with groups to help shape services, or videos or other multimedia to help promote and showcase their work.
We’ve also built an online platform that helps refugees find volunteering opportunities (SkillsMatch) and provided interior design and refurbishment of local young people’s charity StreetWise’s reception area.

THE RECOVERY COLLEGE (RECOCO)
CHARITIES SHOWCASE:
The Recovery College (Newcastle), known as ReCoCo, is a mental health charity which provides a peer-led education and support service where people can learn from each other’s insights, skills and lived experience, all with the aim of promoting recovery and mental wellbeing.
We’ve worked alongside ReCoCo for years designing their termly prospectuses, building their online presence, and have recently worked with them on a video about what they do and what makes ReCoCo such an invaluable service.

STREETWISE
Roots and Wings have a profound interest in young peoples Mental Health. This interest culminated in a service design investigation (funded by Paul Hamlyn) into the Mental Health services young people in Newcastle and Gateshead experience. One key recommendation from our report was to improve the environments in which young people receive help.
Frustrated with the speed at which statutory services were implementing our recommendations we worked with the ever-innovative Streetwise to prove this concept. Following discussions and workshops with young people and Streetwise staff, plans were drawn up and, in the space of five days, we transformed their dated, cluttered old space into chic hang-out fit for a hipster king, or failing that, lots of young people in search of confidential advice, counselling and free condoms.
The airy, vibrant new reception area includes 2 large new tables, a bar-style countertop, a live-edge coffee table and reception desk (all completely custom-built with help from the brilliant Newcastle Wood Recycling), a feature wall, new light fittings and flooring, and specially commissioned triptych of paintings from a local graffiti artist.

BLUE SKY TRUST
Blue Sky Trust is a Newcastle-based charity that works with people whose lives have been affected by HIV. As one of the only charities in the North East specialising in HIV advice and support, the work they do is unbelievably valuable. Blue Sky Trust got in touch with us about a new website and promotional animation.
Blue Sky Trust’s mission to break the stigma surrounding HIV and that is a mission that we wholeheartedly support.
